Pescadero Cottage & Bunkhouse

Undeveloped Beaches, Redwood Parks & Great Country Roads...

Lou was there when I arrived and showed me the gorgeous layout of the Bunkhouse and Cottage. She told me things about the town I didn't know from previous visits, and even helped me with a tricky lock on my motorcycle. She made sure I'd have access to music during my stay. It felt more like visiting a friend than checking in.

Everything in the Bunkhouse was high quality: The bed was so comfortable, it was hard to get up. The bath towels, linens, and vases of flowers, along with the tasteful decorations made the space feel special. Lou is an artist and the outside gardens reflect this as well.

Everything worked perfectly. The heater, the hot water, the shower, etc. The room looks out into a garden with chairs, a picnic table, and two bicycles! I rode the mountain bike 10 miles to the beach and back, and had no issues at all with the bike or traffic. It was on a Tuesday in April, and the countryside is green and in bloom. So many wildflowers, but no mosquitos.

I felt very safe in the Bunkhouse at all times and didn't have any security issues. It was quiet, especially at night, as it's off the main street but very close to town.

Day Trips Down the Coast

We opted to make the Pescadero Cottage and Bunkhouse our vacation destination after my son's wedding in Berkeley. It worked out perfectly for 2 couples. We took day trips down the coast and were always happy to return to the Cottage. Loved the little town. Great food, great wine, happy hours in the back yard, lovely wood burning stove. It was all charming. We would definitely go back again. Lou and her family were incredible hosts!

Life on the "Slow Coast"

Lou and her daughter met us at the property to show us around and couldn't have been nicer. Super friendly and welcoming. The place is aptly named - it's really charming and cozy yet modern and comfortable. The location is ideal - walking distance to Duarte's, the General Store and the coolest used flannel shop ever, Slow Coast. Lou lent us bikes which we rode the half mile to Harley's Goat Farm where we saw baby goats being born and scored some delicious cheeses for our beach picnic. It's only about a mile and a half to the coast and there are gorgeous beaches north and south. It was an idyllic weekend on the Slow Coast and we'll definitely be back to Lou's place.

Charming Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cottage which was well appointed with all the necessities and close to downtown Pescadero. Lou was very helpful and included delicious chocolates and a bottle of wine, plus complimentary wine-tasting. We really enjoyed the use of the croquette set on the lawn for evening tournament play at happy hour, and in the evenings the cozy warmth of the wood-burning stove with plentiful firewood close by.

Amazing Home & Location

I rented both the Cottage and Bunkhouse for my family for a weekend when we went to Pescadero for my sister's wedding. Everything about the property is so well taken care of. The garden is beautiful and the units are decorated with the most amazing collection of artwork, that I could spend hours just admiring all of it. The Cottage and Bunkhouse were thoughtfully stocked with some drinks and snacks, which came in really handy when we were racing around without time to grab a bite. The beds were so comfortable too. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. I was so happy that everybody in my group was ecstatic with the place, and loved it. We will definitely be back.

Quaint & Charming

We enjoyed a great stay at the very quaint and charming Bunkhouse. The property is well maintained with a beautiful garden and pleasant atmosphere. The Bunkhouse is the perfect size for one or two people, with cute decorations and a very “homey” feel. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The area is quiet in the lovely little town of Pescadero. The owner left complimentary goodies, plus there was a coffee maker to make fresh coffee or tea to accompany the fresh pastries/baked goods that can be purchased from Arcangeli’s Grocery just down the street. From the Bunkhouse it only takes a few minutes to walk downtown, where there are a few cute shops and restaurants, including Duarte’s Tavern, where we enjoyed a delicious seafood cioppino. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in/near Pescadero and hope to return some day.
